Celebrating Gaura Purnima

Following a genuine spiritual path is absolutely essential for every human being. This is because the consciousness in the human form has been lent the power to question reality and probe deeper meanings. Yet, this is an age when exploring the spiritual dimension seems to be accorded little priority.

Celebrating Gaura Purnima-pancha tattva

Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is Krishna Himself, who came to deliver the greatest spiritual benefit to the most spiritually bereft. Knowing the souls of Kali Yuga to be weak and incapable of the severe penances and austerities needed to quell the overwhelming urges of illusion, Lord Chaitanya gave them the simple, but all-powerful process of Harinama Sankirtana – the congregational chanting of the thirty two-syllabled mantra –

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna
Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama
Rama Rama Hare Hare

He appeared with his associates and flooded the whole world with the reverberations of the holy name. He stemmed the tide of depravation and kindled hearts with sublime truth by which they could accept the spiritual injunctions of ultimate salvation.

His powerful influence will gradually expand by the rigorous efforts of His eternal associates to establish and sustain a peaceful and devotional society for the next 10,000 years. His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada was instrumental in bringing worldwide attention to the mission of Lord Chaitanya.

Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir is working in earnest pursuit of the vision of Srila Prabhupada to unite the whole world under the banner of Lord Chaitanya’s Hare Krishna Movement. The celebration of Gaura Purnima, the appearance day of Lord Chaitanya who was addressed with love as Gauranga or Gaura due to His golden complexion, is a great festival for fostering the teachings and methods of Lord Chaitanya among all sections of society.
