The first Culture Camp of Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir in the Delhi National Capital Region had an impressive launch in the splendid Omaxe Green Valley Community Hall located in Sector 42 & 43 of Faridabad, Haryana on Monday, 21 May 2018.
Devotees, Volunteers and Staff of Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir had been in hectic preparation for the event for more than 2 months. On the morning of 21stMay 2018, all their hard work came to fruition. Thirty-three children enrolled for the Culture Camp with a rush of requests for registration in the final days, but the camp had reached its capacity. It was highly encouraging for the organizers who began contemplating a second camp for the summer.
The camp began with a video show for the kids followed by a quiz in which they participated enthusiastically. Then they were taught some pranama mantras as offerings of respect to Srila Prabhupada the founder of the worldwide Hare Krishna Movement & Lord Chaitanya the father of the Sankirtana movement and His associates. Then to the sound of traditional musical instruments the children took part in Sankirtana in which they sang the Hare Krishna Mantra and danced joyfully.
The Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir Culture camp consists of an important session on Values. Gleaned from the scriptures and teachings of Srila Prabhupada, the knowledge of values has a vital ennobling influence on children. After Sankirtana a session on Values was conducted. Then exciting educational games lightened the atmosphere for the children and there was much glee.
Children then enjoyed delicious lunch Prasdam.
After lunch it was time for children to start the ‘Module’ session. In this session kids are taught an art of their choice. Some went to the “Arts & Crafts” class, some to the “Classical Dance” class and some others to the “English Drama” class. Seasoned teachers taught them the respective skills.
Childhood is the ideal time for learning. With the rich cultural and spiritual discourse at the Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir Culture Camp, children will gain precious learning they will cherish for a lifetime.
