Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir will strive to be socially and environmentally responsible. This project is aimed at reviving the cultural heritage of India keeping in mind the social and environmental attributes. The Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir is not just another concrete building. It will be a centre for spiritual and cultural learning through mediums of lectures, libraries, museums, cultural activities along with important festivities. The below mentioned are some of the social and green aspirations of the project:
I. Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir has plans to recreate the 12 verdant forests around the temple thereby increasing the green cover which is a pro environmental step.
II. Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir also has plans to be a zero waste project so that we do not release any solid or liquid waste out of the project site, but consume and recycle all waste. We also welcome other environmentally conscious agencies and people to share their ideas to make it a more environment friendly project.
III. Along with providing a platform for spiritual connect, this project also has social aspirations like:
i. Welfare programmes for the widows of Vrindavan
ii. Restoration, up-gradation and rejuvenation of the important sites of Braj where Lord Sri Krishna performed his pastimes
iii. Restoration of River Yamuna to her original and pristine glory
IV. One of the woes of Vrindavan is traffic and lack of parking space for the thousands of cars that come during auspicious occasions and weekends. Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir has a plan to provide parking space for about 2000 cars which can be enhanced in the next phase. We hope this will also help to decongest Vrindavan town and make visits to the innumerable temples a more pleasant experience.
