Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir Celebrates Srila Prabhupada Disappearance Day 2015

Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir, Vrindavan celebrated the disappearance day of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanata Swami Prabhupada with solemn ritual and grand ceremony. In the morning, Abhishekam ceremony was held in the lawns of Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir. Some 300 devotees participated in the event. In the evening a Smaran (memorial) event was held at Sri Radha Damodara Temple in Vrindavan. This was the temple Srila Prabhupada lived in just before departing for his historic journey to New York where he established the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.

His Grace Chanchalapati Dasa, President, Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir and His Holiness Paradmadvaiti Swami Maharaj, a renowned western sannyasi disciple of Srila Prabhupada, recounted the disappearance pastimes of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. SrimanChanchalapati Dasa said “As a true Acharya, Srila Prabhupada showed by his powerful example how to depart from the mortal world in rapt attention on Krishna.” His Holiness ParamadvaitiMaharaj, who has preached widely in South America said “Srila Prabhupada brought the whole world to Vrindavan to get engaged in the divine service of Lord Krishna.” After the smaran programme, devotees performed Guru Puja for Srila Prabhupada, which was followed by the DamodaraDeepaDaan function in which devotees offered ghee lamps to Sri Sri Radha Damodara Deities of the temple to the accompaniment of ecstatic Sankirtana. The event attracted nearly 300 devotees from different parts of the world.
