The annual festival of Khatu Shyam ji Phalgun Mela is a very popular festival in the village of Khatu in the Sikar district of Rajasthan. It draws such a large crowd of devotees over the five-day of events that Indian Railways schedules a special train for the festival from New Delhi for the period. The Darshan of Khatu Shyam Ji is open for 24 hours on each day during the five-day period.
This year the festival is being conducted from 16th – 20th march 2016. The most important day of the festival is the Phalguna Shukla Ekadashi, which falls on 19th March this year. Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir has been invited to perform Sankirtana before Khatu Shyam Ji on 19th March 2016. Devotees of Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir will be travelling to Khatu and performing Hare Krishna Sankirtana at the Shyam Ji temple from 10 pm – 11 pm. The Sankirtana of Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir is being conducted in collaboration with Krishna Bhumi (www.krishnabhumi.in), who are parterning with Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir in the construction of the world’s tallest temple.
We would encourage devotees to join us for our Sankirtana during the festival and enhance the devotional spirit of the event by their enthusiastic participation. Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir is an invitee for the festival. Devotees wishing to participate would need to make their own arrangements for travel and stay.
