Hon’ble Sri Akhilesh Yadav and U.S. CongressWomen Visits Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir
The day of Holi on 16th March 2014 marked a significant beginning as Sri Akhilesh Yadav, Honourable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh laid the foundation stone for the Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir during the Shilanyas ceremony. The day was especially auspicious as it coincided with Gaura Purnima, the appearance day of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu who propagated congregational chanting of the holy name of Lord Krishna.
Along with Guests of Honour Sri Rajeev Shukla – Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs; Sri Jayant Chaudhary – MP; Sri Pradeep Mathur – MLA; Sri Rajkumar Rawat – MLA; Sri Tejpal Singh – MLA; Sri Pooran Prakash – MLA and Sri Shyam Sunder Sharma – MLA, were Madhu Pandit Dasa, Chairman, Chanchalapathi Dasa, President of the Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir and other representatives from the temple. Laying the foundation stone of the massive skyscraper temple, Sri Akhilesh Yadav said, “This is a historic moment for Mathura-Vrindavan coinciding with Holi which inspires us to spread love and happiness. India is known for its culture, plurality and is home to numerous religions. A moment like this underlines our rich heritage and must encourage all to promote spiritualism.” He promised to extend full support to the project.
Addressing the gathering Chanchalapathi Dasa, President, Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir said, “We are not only trying to create a temple but recreate the times of Krishna where people can be at peace and participate in intellectually stimulating lectures and take part in activities of music and art.”
During her recent visit to India on 1st January 2015, American Congresswoman Ms. Tulsi Gabbard also visited Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir. Ms. Gabbard is a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. She is an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna and a follower of Srila Prabhupada, the Founder-Acharya of the Hare Krishna Movement and the inspiration behind the Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir project. During the visit Ms. Gabbard offered her sincere obeisances to Srila Prabhupada.
Suvyakta Narasimha Dasa, Senior Vice-President and Yudhisthira Krishna Dasa, Vice-President of Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir provided a guided tour of the project to Ms. Gabbard and also presented her the goals, aspirations and progress of the project. Ms. Gabbard expressed happiness on the progress made by Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir and wished success.
Ms. Gabbard mentioned that Bhagavad Gita should be popularised and its message should be made known to one and all. Ms. Tulsi Gabbard had earlier presented ‘Bhagavad Gita As It Is’, a commentory on the sacred text by Srila Prabhupada to Sri Narendra Modi, Honourable Prime Minister of India. According to DNA India, Ms. Gabbard said, “The Bhagavad Gita is the ‘perfect textbook’ for those who are striving to be ‘servant leaders’ and its message is relevant for all days and ages” in a talk on ‘The Future of Indo-US Relationships.’
