Jijnasa Program at IIM Amritsar

Young people in the premier institutes of the world receive rigorous training to be future leaders of people. If their views were to be tempered with the profound knowledge found in the great spiritual books of India like Bhagavad-Gita, their capacity for benefitting society would increase manifold.


The Jijnasa youth outreach program aims to present the wisdom of the Vedic scriptures to students in India’s premier institutions in a pragmatic light.

Jijnasa is a weekly spiritual awareness program initiated by the Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir constituted of 19 sessions that cover important aspects of Vedic knowledge.

Recently on 8th August 2017, Jijanas conducted the inaugural session of the program at Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Amritsar. The speakers were Sundeep Talwar, CMO, Akshaya Patra Foundation and Shuklambara Dasa, Vice President, Community and Youth Outreach, Hare Krishna Movement.

Inaugural Session

The session entitled “Happiness Management” introduced spiritual principles vital for achieving true happiness. These were refreshing thoughts for the students to delve into. New doors of perception and reflection were opened for the students.

The students were given an exposure to the Akshaya Patra mid-day meal program that serves 16 Lakh children countrywide. Such a large-scale social welfare program was conceived and is sustained by the selfless thinking that spiritual knowledge awakens.
