It is our nature to live in an atmosphere of unconditional, selfless love. There is no anxiety about the situation turning sour at any time because in that world the inhabitants are pure, mature personalities. Everyone is spontaneously driven by the common desire of pleasing Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. In essence, the spiritual dimension is a conglomeration of infinite souls harmoniously engaged in loving devotional service of Sri Krishna. The Lord by His unfathomable power fosters the loving devotion of every one of His tiny servants, unlimited in number, with His perfect reciprocations. While the devotee wishes to satisfy the Lord, the Lord, in turn, wants to satisfy the devotee. It is a dimension where the mood of loving service is intensely prominent.
In contrast, the world we now live in is exactly contrary to the one with the desirable spiritual atmosphere. Any act of service is viewed with intense suspicion of motives. To be selfless is considered a weakness. To machinate personal fulfilment is considered success. A person may go to great lengths to discredit another for taking pleasure in his/her pain. False ego is the most prominent actor in this vitiated atmosphere. In a world characterised by illusion, selfishness and greed, the mood is to become the Lord, to somehow usurp His unlimited position. This attitude proliferates at the root of material existence.
Breaking the Material Mentality
Vedic scriptures and great Acharyas address the deluded living entity in the material condition to reform his ways. They urge him to purify his consciousness, to sustain in him goodness undeterred by the vagaries of the world. They propose transcendence as the means. A vision beyond limited material space and time – an experience from an eternal context.
Srila Prabhupada’s Vision
His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, established a worldwide Bhakti movement for teaching humanity the ultimate spiritual practice. He gave us transcendental literature opening gateways to the vast treasure house of transcendental knowledge that had become obscure because of malicious interpretation. He firmly established a daily sadhana programme that was both easy to perform and powerfully transformative. His institution, ISKCON, was created to catalyse spiritual consciousness in society. The vision was to “give human society an opportunity for a life of happiness, good health, peace of mind and all good qualities through God-consciousness.”
Benefit of Understanding Krishna
Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir is a bold initiative to realise the vision of Srila Prabhupada. God consciousness manifests by an intimate association with His sublime activities. The Gita states,
“One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance and activities does not, upon leaving the body, take his birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna.”
Empowered with scientific scriptural understanding, one’s spiritual faith strengthens. Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir will have three beautiful altars of Radha Krishna, Krishna Balarama and Chaitanya Nityananda and systematic dissemination of scriptural teachings to instil transcendental faith in visitors.
Modern technology affords the opportunity to impart a realistic experience of Lord Krishna’s endearing pastimes of Vraja. Imbued in Krishna’s pastimes are the spiritual understanding of His Supreme nature and the characteristics of pure devotional service. When delivered with 3D and 4D effects, the experience of Krishna lila can awaken a soul’s dormant attraction for Him. The feature of the twelve forests of Vraja, the outdoor-attractions, the Bhagavad-Gita Expo and the Krishna Heritage Museum have all been meticulously conceived for giving a powerful spiritual impetus for people in all walks of life.
Srila Prabhupada dreamed of an iconic skyscraper monument in Vrindavan for the benefit of all humanity. Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir is poised to fulfil his vision.
